Enjoy Kentucky! I lived there for a few years and hit the trail a couple times. There are so many places to visit along the trail, it would probably take a week or two of diligent touring to see them all. Also, a little less know in Louisville - they have one of the most interesting culinary scenes in the country. They are not an NYC but they do have a lot of great places to eat at varying prices. There is also a tremendous caving and fossil scene in KY, “Located in Indiana directly across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky, Falls of the Ohio State Park features one of the largest naturally exposed Devonian-age fossil beds in the world.”

The caving and fossil scene were great! I came back with some XXX-million-year old fossils, and authentic Kentucky agates. Thank you!

Your link to “Eno and Eno-like music” opens Pandora, but says the playlist doesn’t exist. Can you please send out an revised link?

Another great source for always-on, uninterrupted ambient music is the Sleepbot Environmental Broadcast, which has been broadcasting for as long as I can remember.

Another good one is Ambient Sleeping Pill. They are known for the Spotify playlist and have a relationship with many artists on the list.

But this browser version also works outside of streaming platforms (because of that relationship mentioned above): https://ambientsleepingpill.com/

The Eno music stream link leads to a 'deleted page' message from Pandora.

Just re-ask Pandora for an Eno channel.

The best ambient music resource I have ever come across is mynoise.net, operated by Dr. Stephane Pigeon, "a signal processing Ph.D. engineer with a strong passion for sounds". It has a gigantic collection of soundscapes, ambient music (acoustic, synthesizers, vocal, obscure instruments like digeridoos, you name it), and nature sounds, and each one is customizable with ten different sliders. The dedication that he puts into his work and the quality of the sounds is unbelievable; he travels all over the world to gather and record sounds for it. Listen with good speakers/headphones!

Perplexity states that the Comet browser is susceptible to prompt injection attacks, similar to all AI powered browsers. Readers should be warned about that.

Given Perplexity's partnership with Truth Social, I would abstain from using that browser.

I have to say, the degree to which your newsletters have shifted to recommending AI slop is pretty gross.

If you enjoy Brian Eno’s music, there’s a wonderful interview with him on a fairly recent Ezra Klein podcast. He is utterly charming and insightful, and it’s clear that Klein didn’t want the interview to end.
