We're big fans of Silk's vanilla soy milk coffee creamer to the extent if one grocery here in Tucson doesn't carry it, we'll travel to another and another, if necessary, to find a container or two and then stock up.
Every one of the less intelligent wretches I'm urged to graciously condescend to is way better at something - likely multiple somethings - than me. Without exception!
We instinctively supremacize our core faculty while deprecating those of others. I realized, to my astonishment a few years ago, that it's quite an accomplishment to be good-looking. Put me in Brad Pitt's body, and, within about 30 seconds, I'd make him look shloompy and uncomposed. It's hard to always wear a flattering expression; to keep your eyes alive even while busy thinking; to move and gesture gracefully; to deftly conceal your unguarded bafflement, boredom, and irritation.
Intelligent people are especially prone to smugly overvalue their particular Mazlow Hammer. But intelligence is just one thing. Wisdom (which has nothing to do with raw cognition) is more useful. As is intuition. And creativity. A great sense of humor is perhaps most helpful of all. Physical courage opens up worlds. Kindness actually makes things better. With patience, you can do practically anything, even beyond your apparent limitations. I could go on.
The diversity of the human realm compels cooperation. But if you frame it unilaterally (falsely assuming everything revolves around your core faculty), that's arrogance, which reflects a skewed framing. https://jimleff.blogspot.com/2012/03/arrogance-is-elective.html
