Photosweep Founder here! Thanks so much for the love! As well as single photo / video sorting to albums, Photosweep lets you sweep from a gallery view which is faster than any method out there. Can’t do that anywhere else! Android coming soon. Huge thanks again 💫

Map of the Best was not good for Marin. Left out some very good spots, and highlighted some really mediocre ones.

OneTab is great for tab management but I love vertical tree tab extensions, best of which is Sidebery (only Firefox). I find I don't even need to use OneTab as it becomes redundant, can just have a batch of tabs as a single folded node somewhere.

For persons interested in the "Curate to create" topic, I recommend the note taking/organizing, web clipping app/program Evernote. See evernote.com, https://www.reddit.com/r/Evernote .

I use Evernote for work, but my favorite feature is being able to sync all my Readwise highlights to Evernote. It creates a post/page for every book.

Opps! Looks like they filled some of those holes since I last checked but some still missing it seems.

The word “cannibal” has a strong connotation of intent to eat flesh of one’s species. The cows were not cannibals — they were fed brain material from other cows and then murdered and fed to humans. I don’t know what to call THAT behavior, but it is assuredly more disgusting.

Map of the Best - in usually search stores and restaurants inside of google maps. There are reviews as well and the search can be filtered by things like open now (super useful at strange hours of the day), top ranked. For me google maps is my all in one swiss army knife for finding things locally. It also gives me mostly results from businesses who have actually taken time to register their business on google (keeping current menus, hours of operation, current phone and address info) plus I can see photos from other normal people and when the photos were taken. Super useful.

Beautiful thanks for sharing the whole earth catalog.

Please see The Whole University Catalog

Whole Earth Index is spectacular good news. I'd recently thrown out my complete set of back issues to move to Europe, so very glad to have them back.

It is not difficult or expensive to add global search functionality within these PDFs. I certainly hope they're working on it.

Ok, good, there's a way to search.

Whole Earth Index doesn’t actually host the PDFs. They live at Internet Archive, which DOES offer text content search. Whole Earth Index could add a search field that relays properly-configured search queries back to Internet Archive, but, meanwhile, here's a manual workaround

Go here: https://archive.org/search?query=%28Your+Text+String%29+AND+collection%3A%28The+Internet+Archive%27s+Whole+Earth+collection%29&sin=TXT

And swap in your text (in place of "Your Text String") with or without quotation marks, depending on whether you want an exact match.

The "collection name" attribute can be changed to one specific magazine, e.g. CoEvolution Quarterly. Just be sure to retain the quotation marks on that part.

Great piece. Just put the Path book on my Audible, thank you.

Hello,

Is it my imagination or are the following issues missing from the Whole Earth Index:

coevolution quarterly

27 fall 1980

whole earth review

95 winter 1998

96 spring 1999

98 fall 1999

I know I've got them in one of my boxes as have all the issue around here somewhere.

Thanks!
